deviantArt - 'The' art community

If you want art, then you want deviantArt .... thats all I can say.

If you've not been to deviantArt you've missed out on something really big. Yep and I'm not one bit exagerrating here.

Home to more than 38,461,753 deviations (Deviations are art that deviants submit and deviants are you and me) and increasing every second. Okay, its already become 38,461,805 in the time it took to type this.

So there you have it "the largest art community in the world!" growing every second.
There are a total of 16 categories, each having it's own set of sub-categories. Categories range from Traditional Art to Digital Art to Literature to Manga/Anime. Just name it and you will find it here.

Once you register, you get your own free gallery at yourname.deviantart.com. Then "you can collect favourites, submit art, and track your friends and favourite artists."

It doesn't end here. You can buy prints of the art here. Yes, if you like something you can get it printed and delivered right to your doorstep. Cool isn't it.

Still not over. Then there's the dAmn, the deviantArt messaging network, where you can chat with other deviants chat, set up your own chat rooms etc.etc.

The News section tells you whats going on in the deviantArt universe.

dA also has it's very own forum where you can ask questions and get answers to anyhting ... and its not only limited to art. There are sections here dedicated to Operating Systems, not something you would have expected on an art related site. If that was too much then heres more. It also has a section on Hardware, something thats really important for digital artists who are into some really high end rendering business. Theres also a section on Programming with the lastest post by samusfairchild requiring some help on PHP/My SQL. If you are looking out for a freelance job then head to the dA Forums.

So there it is deviantArt. Everything that we art people needed.

I normally post screen shotsof sites. But this you need to see with your own eyes. Click to go to deviantArt.

Color In Motion

Color plays a very important role in design. Yeah, I know I don't need to tell you that. If you know how to handle color, then I believe your design is half done.

So here is the first of the many resources on Color Theory that are available on the www.

Color In Motion presents color theory in a really amusing way. It teaches you color theory in and interactive manner taking you into the personalities of each color.

Color in Motion has three parts to it - The Stars, The Movies and The Lab

The Stars present to you the stars of this feature.

Here you can select anyone of the stars and view their character traits.

The Movies section plays a short movie about each of our stars. Each of these movies brings out the qualities of our stars in a way that makes colors so easy to understand, what they stand for, what they symbolize and what the mean

Ok, it doesn't end here. The last section is The Lab. I'm not going to tell you much about this, but I can assure you that it is worth the visit.

So here is a site that makes learning some theory really interesting. You have to have a look

Weird Fish

This was not what I had in mind for my second post on this blog. But I'm so confused as to what kind of fish this is that I had to post it.

Could anyone please tell me what kind of fish this is?

The mouth just doesn't look like that of a fish.

This fish was caught at Kulur-Kulai, a place on the western coast of India. None of the fisher folk have seen anything of this sort before in their lives. They too, are at a loss regarding this fish.

If you know anything about this fish, I would be glad if you could tell me something. Please leave your comments.
